Business Process Management Study

Today the managing of your business is even more critical then just a few years ago. With the introduction of web based services and web based information management, competition is even greater. Interaction and control over internal processes and those of your customers have become an integral part of managing your business. IDS views this process as an absolutely essential step in the development of productive and effective Document Management, Collaboration and Workflow systems. IDS Edge, EdgeVault and Edge Workflow products provide you with the ability to manage your valuable business information, secure your documents, track your business process, and make the best use of your customer and business information by applying and automating those rules which apply to your business.

To validate these processes and rules IDS offers Business Process Management Study Services as a pre-installation and project definition process to document and flow your business while defining the steps needed to implement a realistic and effective process.

This is accomplished in three ways:

  1. Extensive interviews and evaluation of the existing manual and automated processes in your business.

  2. Development of graphical flows that reflect your current processes and recommended improvements.

  3. In depth meetings with management and staff to review the processes and discuss weaknesses and controls.

A Business Process Management Study consist of a review of the automated and manual processes through the following steps:

  1. Discovery

  2. Current process deployment

  3. Business application rules

  4. Overview of operations objectives and rules

  5. Execution

  6. Optimization

  7. Workflow application

Once this process is completed and management concurs with findings and recommended improvements the final design is then transitioned into automated rules based flow templates. These templates are now made available to staff and management as an integrated daily process.

Benefits of performing this step in the development of a Workflow and Information Management system are:

  1. Actual confirmation of the business process.

  2. A better understanding of information flow.

  3. The ability to establish true rules based processes.

  4. Identification of inefficient use of resources.

  5. The establishment of process status reporting.

  6. The ability to identify bottlenecks in the process thru visual tracking.

  7. Better response to customer and management needs.

  8. Better overall process management thru email alerts, noticing and automatic and manual task reassignment capabilities.

  9. The ability to have managed coterminous processes.

  10. Automated approvals and business processing based on user initiated predefined responses.

The cost that can be saved through the proper and effective application of a Business Process Study quite often is substantial when compared to the replacement or redesign of ineffective systems. Quite often the initial steps in establishing and effective system are rushed and not properly evaluated.

Design, Development and Programming Services

IDS Programming ServicesIDS has been providing programming services to it’s customers for over a decade. Designing and implementing new applications that meet customer needs yet provide flexibility is an import part of IDS Programming Services. To do this IDS has on staff Microsoft certified individuals that are proficient in Visual Basic. Net , XML, ASP.Net and numerous scripting languages and API’s. Microsoft Visual Basic® .NET is the newest, most productive version of the Visual Basic tool set that enables IDS to address today's pressing application development issues effectively and efficiently. Visual Basic .NET enables IDS to create rich applications for Microsoft Windows® in less time, incorporate data access from a wider range of database scenarios, create components with minimal code, and build Web-based applications using the skills you already have.

Visual Basic .NET opens the door for IDS to offer a smooth transition to building next-generation applications today. Visual Basic .NET empowers IDS developers to consume XML Web services running on any platform and build Web services as easily as building any class in Visual Basic 6.0. Finally, Visual Basic .NET enables developers to tackle projects of any size. With new multithreaded applications, IDS can build massively scalable server-side components and Web applications, as well as more responsive client-side applications that perform multiple tasks in parallel.

In addition, Visual Basic .NET infuses IDS applications with built-in security, direct access to the Microsoft .NET Framework, and the capability to target an extensive array of mobile devices. The rich .NET Framework security model provides fine-grained control over application security while secure Windows Forms eliminate the need for ActiveX controls and ActiveX documents. With complete, direct access to the .NET Framework, IDS developers can quickly access the registry, event log, performance counters, and file system, as well as eliminate the need for declares statements for accessing the operating system. And with the Microsoft Mobile Internet Toolkit, IDS developers can build applications that render intelligently on more than 80 mobile devices.
