IDSS Employee Srikanth Celamkoti's Article on BioInformatics tool, GeneOrder 3.0 developed by him along with his team under the able guidance of ATCC scientist Dr Charles Buck and GMU Professor Dr Donald Seto is now published in prestigious BMC Bioinformatics Journal.http://www.biomedcentral.com/1471-2105/5/52/abstract.
The software has been developed by Srikanth and his team while he was doing his Master's in George Mason University from 2001 to 2003. GeneOrder3.0 is a Software used for comparing the order of genes in pairs of small bacterial genomes. GeneOrder3.0 is a web-accessible whole genome comparative tool that provides gene order and synteny visualization for a pair of genomes of sizes up to 2Mb “on-the-fly.”
GeneOrder3.0 relies on the BLAST sequence alignment algorithm [12]. The client-sever architecture for this web-based tool has been implemented using J2EE technologies and Tomcat server has been used to host the web application.
Srikanth Celamkoti has been an IDSS Employee
since June 2003. Before joining IDSS, he completed his Master’s degree
in Information Systems and a Graduate Certificate Diploma in Software
Engineering at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.
