IDSS Designs and Builds LEDX Web Portal for OJJDP ICAC Task Force
Every day nearly 2,000 children are classified as missing. Availability of child pornography on the Internet and through chat rooms is growing at an alarming rate. The abduction and exploitation of children has become an even greater problem with the advent of the Internet. Law Enforcement personnel have been lacking tools to collaborate effectively and bring to justice individuals that would prey upon children. The LEDX (Law Enforcement Data Exchange) was designed and created in cooperation with the Department of Justice’s ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) Task Force to provide training, activity reporting, a national deconfliction system, educational training materials, as well as, a means to provide safe and secure case collaboration for various law enforcement agencies around the world. LEDX started as an IT initiative whereby government and the corporate community would cooperatively make available current technology to combat serious and growing crimes against children.
LEDX was established for the sole use of the
Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice Programs – ICAC Task
Force. ICAC has hundreds of members across the United States and its
territories. The secure web portal was designed by IDSS.
