The all-new, long awaited and
improved Edge Business Management Solution (BMS) product
Edge 2004™ which offers users many new
integrated security, management and connectivity features to meet the
demands of today's technology and the protection of the customer mission
critical information and documents.
With the release of the all new Edge 2004™ product designed in the .NET platform and tested for Windows 2003 Server and Office 2003 compliancy, IDSS has developed the best product for today's records, case and document management that is scalable from a single seat to an Enterprise wide System. Passwords are more secure in Edge 2004™. There are multiple new connectivity interfaces within Edge 2004™, including a new Edge Workflow™, EdgeVault™, iManage, Microsoft SharePoint, DocuShare®, Xerox Document Centre™, WorkCentre, and Konica MFD interfaces.
New features incorporated into Edge 2004™ include:

New active Search and Select feature. Within the Select feature you can view all the folders and its corresponding documents in a tree view format. The new active Search feature allows the user to search for documents or folders, using their metadata, with the ability to have up to 4 search criteria using logical operators.

New Email capture feature which not only stores your email in a designated folder but places the referenced attachments with it in the folder for future viewing.

New Archive Feature which allows automatic archiving of whole folder or separate documents, to a predefined archive path set initially by the administrator based on an expiration date set in the files, with the ability to search and retrieve documents and folders from the Archive.

New Thumbnail feature has been added so that users can view TIF image pages in thumbnails with in the document viewer. Each thumbnail can be double clicked and opened in a new window for easy document comparison.

New Bates feature. Unique Number, Date and Time Stamping are other features that have been added. It provides the ability to uniquely number and time and date stamp documents as they are being scanned in one of the documents four corners as they are processed.

New Batch Processing which includes a scan/import feature, a document indexing feature, and a document manager feature. When setting up a batch processing job the user has the ability to set a threshold to indicate when a new document starts when being scanned/imported.

New Drag and Drop feature which allows the user to Drag and Drop folder/document into other folders within the Select interface, as well as the ability to Drag and Drop within the Field Manager to rearrange the order of the folders and documents index fields. A new Drag and Drop ability has been added to the DocuShare® interface which allows users to Drag files from an explorer like window directly to a folder within DocuShare® and the same is for retrieving files from DocuShare®.
